Amaya Noain has a Degree in Journalism at Complutense University of Madrid, a Master’s Degree /Master of Arts (M.A.) in Mass Media Communication, and a Professional Master's Degree in Broadcasting Journalism at Complutense University and RTVE.
She was awarded the degree of European Doctor of Philosophy Cum Laude: European PhD at Complutense University and European Mention at Goethe Universität Frankfurt am Main. Her Doctoral Thesis focuses on the analysis of the following issues: New Information and Communication Technologies, S.N.S, privacy, private vs. public sphere, mediated communication, users' behaviour on the Internet and effects of mass media.
At the same time, she has participated both as a speaker and as part of the organizer committee in some international congresses, she has written a huge variety of scientific papers and won some prizes such as the 2015 National Award granted by Agencia Española de Protección de Datos.
Juxtaposed with her academic background, she has developed her professional career as Journalist, both at several Mass Media enterprises and Communication Departments at Governmental Institutions. Regarding Mass Media, she has worked at Spanish Broadcasting Corporation, as well as others such as press editing and Internet companies. As far as Communication Departments, she has worked at Culture Department at Government at Comunidad de Madrid.
Her main interests and research topics are: Communication, Mass Media, Privacy, Private vs. Public Sphere, New Technologies, Internet, S.N.S., Sociology of Communication, Mediated Technology, Music, Cinema, Image, Design and Journalism.
